Dr. Alman Siu-Cheuk Chan

Dr. Chan has spent over 13 years servicing young ex-drug addicts in rehabilitation through counseling, education, and vocational training. In 1998, He founded Christian Zheng Sheng College, the first and only school dedicated for young drug abusers rehabilitation in Asia. Mr. Chan serves as the Principal of Christian Zheng Sheng College.  There, students are loved and cared for with realistic expectations.  The innovative curriculum consists of academic subjects and vocational training in their self-support business operations such as computer shops, advertising companies, piano shops, pizza houses, and fish and dog breeding centers.  His empowerment comes from the love of Jesus.  It is his desire that this award will bring encouragement and recognition to those who help and are helped in the anti-drug industry.  He also wants to see more schools serving marginal youths in Hong Kong in the coming decade. 

陳兆焯，香港基督教正生書院校長，2000年度香港十大傑出青年。留學加拿大，曾在匯基書院任教九年，看到不少本質良好的邊緣青少年因欠缺社會的期望而糟塌人生，乃於1995年加入基督教正生會，投身青少年戒毒工作。後創立亞洲第一間濫用藥物青少年的中學─基督教正生書院，施行愛與關懷的教育，培養學生自力更新的精神。

J.P. Moreland, PhD

James Porter Moreland (aka J.P. Moreland) is an American philosopher, theologian and Christian apologists. He is studied at the University of Missouri, the University of California, Riverside, Dallas Theological Seminary, and received his PhD from the University of Southern California. He is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology, Director of Eidos Christian Center, and a Fellow of the Discovery Institute's Center for the Renewal of Science and Culture. Dr. Moreland has published more than fifty articles in academic journals. He has authored or co-authored many books including Christianity and the Nature of Science, Scaling the Secular City, Does God Exist?, Immortality: The Other Side of Death and The Life and Death Debate: Moral Issues of Our Times.  He is also co-editor of Christian Perspectives on Being Human.  Moreland is a prolific Christian author, lecturer, and debater on a wide range of philosophical, religious, and social issues. He is best known for his contributions to contemporary philosophical apologetics, his critiques of materialism and naturalism, and his defense of Christian theism. Dr. Moreland has served with Campus Crusade for 10 years, planted two churches, and spoken on over 100 college campuses.  He and his wife and partner in ministry, Hope, have two married daughters, Ashley and Allison.
